Collection: The Kitchen Witch's Guide to Ostara
About Ostara
Ostara is the Pagan celebration of the spring equinox. It occurs on or around March 20 every spring (in the Northern Hemisphere).
Ostara is also the precursor to the Christian celebration of Easter. Both are named after the West Germanic spring goddess Eostre, who has lore surrounding hares and eggs. Both celebrate the return of life, for nature in Paganism, and for Jesus in Christianity.
Ritual activities:
Take a ritual bath. Use a bath bomb or bath salts, and let the flowers beautify your bath. Afterwards, roll on some body oil while setting your intentions for a successful spring.
Alternately, you can place a shower steamer on your shower floor and luxuriate in the rich floral aroma. Visualize the winter blues flushing down the drain and plan our your garden for spring while in the shower. Use the cleanser to wash away the ick of winter. Afterwards, apply some body butter to help seal in the moisture and keep your skin spring-ready.
While spring cleaning, spritz some room spray to freshen your air. After spring cleaning, light a candle and envision all of the stale winter energy leaving your space.
