Collection: The Kitchen Witch's Guide to Yule

About Yule

Yule is the celebration of the winter solstice. It originated with Germanic people. It precedes the Christian holiday of Christmas, which borrows heavily from the Pagan traditions of Yule.

Some holiday traditions that are rooted in Yule include the Yule log, the Yule tree, the Yule goat, and caroling. Feasting with loved ones is another tradition that comes with this celebration.

To take a ritual bath, use a bath bomb or bath salts in your bath. Set your intentions for the nights being longer than days. Meditate on inner peace and harmony, especially if you have contentious family gatherings to host or attend. Take a deep breath and find some inner peace, even if only for a moment.

No functioning bathtub, or just not a fan of baths? Plop a shower steamer onto your bathroom floor and ponder the same as above, as the brisk scent of pine and juniper waft over you.

Then, light a candle with intention Boom. You've got this. The holiday season might be super crazy, but it doesn't have to be, and you don't have to let it affect you.
